Can I masturbate while recovering from a groin strain?

Over a month or two ago, I pulled the groin muscle on my right side after overstretching. Since then, I managed to recover from the pull. However, about a week or two ago, the pain returned after I realized I had been sitting incorrectly in my office chair.

I went to my orthopedic doctor, describe to her the situation of how my groin injury came to light, and she has me on Naproxen and three weeks of at-home therapy exercises.

I have stopped masturbating since, unsure if I can continue to do so. Before the injury I usually masturbate in different frequencies. Sometimes 3 to 5 times a week, other times, only a couple times a week.

I enjoy masturbating as it helps me relieve some stress when I need it the most. Aside from this groin injury, I have found myself more depressed than usual, being unable to focus on work, or do anything else that brings me joy.

I just want to know if I can masturbate while I recover from this groin strain?

You should be able to, but if you feel any pain or discomfort, stop, change positions, or ease up. It's just a muscle injury, not anything with any organs. Just take it easy.

Oh and just adding that you should start as gently and easy as possible. Nothing too athletic or bendy or strenuous.
Good advice, auntiejessi. I can’t think of any reason masturbation would be harmful in this situation. Agree about taking it easy at first & stop if there’s any pain, rather doubt there will be…
Bonzo - good to see you. :)
