Yes you can! A lot of people tend to forget that sperm is motile. If there is any liquid between where he ejaculates and your vagina, there is a chance that the sperm can get there. If you want to play it safe, make sure he doesn't ejaculate on your body anywhere near your crotch. Thighs, butt, lower stomach should all be off limits. The chances are -very- slim, but they're still there.
