Can I have melanoma?

I'm 18, and my mole is looking like this since years. Never hurt, never saw it growning (but it doesn't mean it couldn't). However, I've seen some pictures of melanomyc moles and now I'm really afraid, because mine shows some similarities. I've once went to a dermatologyst with it two years ago, and he said it's fine but needs to be checked. However, I don't know whether he had right or just wasn't interested.

here's a picture I've made: kephost.com/image/vyxl

Every answer would make me more comfortable because I can see the doctor only in a week and I literally can't sleep. Even knowing if I can have a real problem would make me more comfortable.

If has always been there & never changed you would be very ill or dead by now if was melanoma. However, rather than worry or risk it have it removed by a PLASTIC SURGEON & sent for testing. Better safe than sorry, yeah?
