Use of liquid nitrogen.

I am new on this forum. I can usually be found on the addiction forum. I was prescribed a very addictive drug by my doctor. Hoewever that is neither here nor there. I was recently found to have a melanoma just below my left eye. The dermatologist sprayed it with liquid nitrogen and bid me goodbye. I have developed a light bump there and it has been described as an after effect of the nitrogen. Has anyone else had this procedure and if so what was the after effect?

I too had the liquid nitrogen for a few treatments and each time they turned red with a bump, but I never heard of it being done for melanoma. Like ChitChatNine said ... you should find out what the pathology report said so you can be sure what you're dealing with.

Did you see the biopsy report?  I think I'd ask for a copy to see what course of treatment the pathologist suggested.  I'm not up on the treatments in that area of the face; I have had the liquid nitrogen to remove pre squamous cell moles on my face and had it done 2X as the first time was not successful.   But, I'm not sure about melanoma and I'd want to be certain you are totally clear to the margins so that is why I'd want to see the pathology report of the initial biopsy .. I assume one was done cause nobody can determine a melanoma by looks alone.

I'm not a Dr., just a melanoma patient like you .. mine was early and now gone.
