Finally!

I finally got my bipap yesterday after waiting 6 weeks. It was a rough night! It's gonna take a while to adjust to this one, lol!

Do those of you with bipap or cpap make it all night with it on? How long did it take for you to adjust?

Hi pennst8r, thanks for your reply. Hope now you are getting good sleep and able to carry on your daily activities with ease. Well, you have pretty quickly got adjusted to the bipap machine and this should be encouraging to other members of the forum who are really looking for such positive feedback on the bipap use. I do understand you may be comfortable with a mask on face throughout the night and also might feel awkward at times but you should be happy as it is assisting you to sleep well. Do follow up with your doctor regularly. Take care and keep updating.

I did it! I made myself keep the bipap on all night. Wow, was I peppy today at work!
Awesome little device, despite its not being very fashionable! I haven't felt this good in ages and ages!

Hey, I did a lot better last night than the night before! I did manage to keep it on probably 2/3 of the night. I think I am adjusting pretty quickly really - only been 2 nights. Not bad for someone who can't stand anything on their face!

Thanks for the encouragement!

Hi pennst8r, how are you doing? Hope you are feeling better with the use of Bipap machine now and able to get a fair amount of sleep. Well, it depends on the severity of sleep apnea how you use the machine. You need to discuss with your sleep doctor if you are facing any problem with the machine or in using it properly. You may take couple of days or weeks in getting adjusted with the new device for a smooth use. Sometimes an allergic reaction and ill fitting mask can be common with it and needs to be replaced if so. Hope you will do a lot better soon. Take care and share your thoughts.

I had a rocky road early on with my cpap, even quit for a while. But did find that the more I used used it the longer I could keep it on. Everyone is different. Some sleep great from night one, but most have to get used to the feel of everything. I tried several different masks and when I found one that was comfortable for me it was easier after that. Now it is second nature and like a security blanket for when I sleep. No more concerns about not breathing.
