I had a sleep study done in August 2009; dx with moderate OSA but I can't tolerate any of the masks or nose pieces they had me try.  I have arrhythmia's (polymorphic VT) and NSVT runs that make my HR's go into the 190's even sleeping and some other heart issues and problems with my ANS going on.

I have hr's awake and sleeping that are 120's, 160's and 190's, I'm wondering if this might be caused by OSA. I have a pacemaker/icd and my NSVT has doubled since my last reading and now I'm up to an episode every other day at various times of the day.

I only got a small portion of the 216 events I had, but here's an example -

Jan 9th 3:44am 190 NSVT;
Jan 10th 21:35 169 NSVT
Jan 16th 00:59; 1:01; 1:08 1:52 NSVT 160 - 164
Jan 27th 22:50 178 NSVT
Jan 28th 5:18a 164 NSVT

Is the OSA causing this or the NSVT causing the OSA and can it be dangerous to keep on going like this?

Anyone have any success with solutions to OSA that don't involve a CPAP?

thanks for the reply...I saw my cardiologist on Friday and he's going to do some digging and see what he finds

When I had my sleep study and they put the cpap on I went into VT runs and almost fainted (I do often) so I wonder if it's something to do with my nasal passage way etc...so I'm back to the sleep dr

no dr can explain it and never had a patient do this...my system is whacky though

I'll leave the technicalities to someone else, but in general untreated apnea is not good for the heart, or any other part of your body. Whoever provided your cpap equipment should see you through whatever it takes to be successful if you keep going back to them. There are web sites dedicated to helping others with adjusting to cpap. Just sounds like your heart doesn't need the stress of sleep apnea, whether it is causing the problems or not.
