Please help...can't seem to stay awake

I'm always falling asleep any time any where, I can sleep for 8 hrs and still feel tired. I fall asleep at work, driving, at school, sitting down comfortable, I have even timed my self I fall asleep in 5 mins no matter where I'm at. What can I do, I don't wanna lose my job because I'm always falling asleep.  The only time I can stay awake is when I'm doin something active. My doctor gave me these meds and he said I might have work shift disorder. I haven't taken them because I am afraid what should I do so I can stay awake so I can go to work for 8hrs and to school for 5hours.

There were times in my life when around 3pm I'd get sleepy, but managed to stay awake.  But more recently I got a new job and loved it, but could not stay awake. I fell asleep constantly, even when my boss was talking with me I'd be fighting nodding off. What I've been told is that this is a side effect of my severe sleep apnea. You might want to consider having a sleep study done. I was put on meds to keep me awake during the day and the first month it was great. But this month I can tell that I'm starting to get sleepy during the day again. But my problem is my sleep apnea
