chest ache/discomfort/pain

I started to use a CPCP a couple weeks ago.  After a few days my chest was feeling sore in the mornings.  The soreness goes away during the day.  If I skip a night the soreness is gone the next morning.  The past couple nights by three AM the soreness/pain is bothering me enough that I put the CPAP aside for the rest of the night.  What I would like to know whether this is normal adn whether it will disappear with time or should I be concerned about it and cease using the CPCP.  I spoke with the folks at the store where I got the machine and they say that they have not heard of issues like this.  But they are in the business of selling machines and I have it on a thirty day trial so that info may be biased.  I will be seeing my family doctor is about ten days.  Any help advice will be appreciated.

Thanks, The discomfort has persisted and I will be seeing my family doctor in two days.  I reviewed the literature that came with the machine but did not see anything that answered by concern.  The folks that I got the machine from on trial just gush about how well I am doing and that everything is great.  She sounds to me like a used car salesperson.  Aside from the pain/discomfort I have not noticed any change in amount or qualilty of sleep.  Lemeee

Hi Lemeee

You do not say enough about your CPAP and sleep disorder. But I would presume you went to a sleep clinic and did all the tests, and were told what the pressure setting was for your CPAP machine by your consultant doctor.

Yes you can have chest discomfort, but if it  persists you need to go back to you consultant doctor and discuss it with him, also you should have got some manuals with your machine or from the store you bought the machine in giving you all the facts and issues you can have with CPAP.

I have being using CPAP for 2 years now I have severe sleep apnoea which was misdiagnosis for 12 years even though it started gradually.
