jerks legs

when it is time for bed and i am starting to relax i get a jack knife occurance knees are bent jerk to chest. .  it is very uncomfortable. they occur a a minute or two intervals. .  i do have low back problems could this be causing it? sometomes if i lie on my stomach and raise my head in a cobra position it may relieve it and they i can fall asleep.

thaks for the info.  i think my back is causing the whole thing.  i will check out plmd.  one doc called it myoclonic jerks.  i don't think so.

Some meds an cause involuntary movements and should be reported to the doctor. There are movement disorders such as Restless Leg Syndrome and Periodic Limb Movement Disorder. I have PLMD and it has caused back, hip and knee pain.
