Hi HawkeyesMN, how are you? Hope you have seen a sleep doctor to get evaluated further? How is your sleep now? Stress and anxiety does cause the sleep disturbance and more the vivid dream, the stress is more. "Yawning is a normal response to fatigue and drowsiness, but excessive yawning can be caused by a vasovagal reaction. Normal yawning may happen when someone else yawns". Refer this link for more details: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003096.htm
It is good idea to get sleep study assessed. Take care and share your thoughts.
haha i think its ok if you feel like that occasionally, but for some people they experience dreaming almost the whole night so they only slept like 1 or 2 hours of real sleep, the rest of the night their brain just keep dreaming and tiring them out
That's interesting. I've noticed that with myself. I can get some vivid dreams, sometimes pleasurable ones with beautiful scenery, but then I wake up feeling quite groggy like I've been whacked in the head or hung over without any drugs...
Also another weird thing is I haven't yawned for over a month, it seems to me I am not tired or......?
hmm...if u dream alot then the sleep isnt helping u to regenerate because the rem sleep is also called paradoxical sleep, where the brain state is the same as awake, therefore u will wake up tired. (vivid dreams are caused by REM sleep, rapid eye movement, common in anxious or depressed people, REM is due to the brain somewhat thinking through everything u thought of, you could do a google on it to learn more)
Hi HawkeyesMN, how are you? I do understand how difficult it is to cope up with the daily acitivities when do not get proper sleep at night. You seem to be probably having sleep apnea syndrome and hence it is better to get a sleep study done to know the cause and get evauluated for proper treatment. Also, the stress and the sinus could be the triggers. Avoid sleeping on your back and get examined by a ENT doctor to know if there is any upper respiratory tract obstruction. Try to go to sleep as early as possible and avoid smoking, alcohol and drugs like muscle relaxants at night. Hope sleep study would let you know the cause. Take care and update on the doctor visit.
Sleep disruption can contribute to moodiness, anxiety and concentration issues. Have you seen a doc to see if there's anything you can do to help with the congestion issues? While you could be having sinus headaches, if you have morning headaches that's one symptom of sleep apnea. If clearing your sinuses doesn't make you feel rested, a sleep study could be beneficial to check for any sleep disorders.
