To you suffer from nasal congestion? Dry mouth suggests breathing through the mouth which can occur with or without snoring.
Was you sleep apnea diagnosed via I full sleep study, an overnight in a hospital or clinic where you were connected to many monitors and your sleep was observed by a specialist (in my case I think specialist was watching two or three of us, she was not in my room).
Sleep apnea is normally accompanied by a low oxygen saturation level, but that measure alone is not sufficient to diagnose.
I have been diagnosed with mild obstructive sleep apnea and I have mostly overcome that through a loss of about 10% of my weight. My problem seems to be my advanced age (loss of muscle tone/strength) and fat in my throat which reduced the air passage. Keep in mind a 10% in one's weight is not a big difference, of course I can see it, my waist is about 2" smaller too.
I cant lie flat on my back without pain so i always sleep on my side
do you sleep on your back? my husbands snoring was always better if he could keep laying on his side rather than on his back....episodes of sleep apnea are also improved by not laying on your back..
I once read an article saying to sew tennis balls inside the back of your pj's than everytime you rolled over you would feel them and adjust back to your side again...bit extreme but may get you thru the next while...good luck
