It would be most helpful if you would post the results of your T3 and T4 (were those "free" or "total"?), along with the reference ranges, so members can see where your levels fall in relation to the ranges.
If you are prone to anxiety, that may be causing some of your symptoms, as well.
Barb, I had T4 and T3, don't have the results handy. I will try cutting it in half for a few days and see how that works. I really can spell.....jittery.
It takes at least 4-6 weeks for the synthroid to take effect; however, it's usually best to start with smaller doses and work up. You might try cutting the 50 in 1/2 for a few days and let your body get used to having the hormones again.
What other tests were done besides TSH? Did your doctor do Free T3 and Free T4, or is he dosing simply from the TSH result? If so, you may be headed for trouble, as TSH is a pituitary hormone and not necessarily indicative of actual thyroid status.
If you have other sample results, please post them, along with reference ranges, which vary from lab to lab, so must come from your own report.
