A year and a half ago I was doing my Medical Assistant Clinicals at my Dr.s office, when inflammation on the right side of my throat raised some concern for her. Well the ultrasound showed nothing, but my labs came back with Tsh level of 5.2...and I began treatment for hypothyroidism...I responded to treatment very well at first...My energy levels started to come back, I lost about 30 pounds in 10 months, and just felt better all around...but about 5 months ago, I started to become increasingly fatigued, found it impossible to keep weight off, and now for the last 3 months I have had a very hoarse voice with no other illness...I also have been repeatedly told I have bradycardia, a heart murmur, and My Ekg's consistantly show a flat T wave....Should I be concerned that this may all be a sign of a worsening condition? Should I push to be seen by an Endocrinologist vs my Family Practitioner? I'm only 27, and just want to feel like everyone else my age again!
