High uptake?

I had a scan done today, and they said my uptake was 23.2...that's high I know based on the average....but what does a high uptake mean?

RadioActive Iodine therapy. Used to destroy the thyroid.

What was the uptake scan run for?

Not sure, but I think it is good.

It means your thyroid sucked up the iodine they gave you. If the thyroid was badly damaged or functioning poorly, the uptake would be lower.

Was the uptake scan in preperation for RAI?
