Male Hypo

I'm wondering if hypothyroidism manifests any differently in men than it does in women?  I have it and am starting to wonder about my husband.  I'm trying to figure out if he really does show signs or if I'm just trying to diagnose him now that I know what's causing all my issues.  :-)  He's going to get a sleep test for what I think is severe sleep apnea.  Does anyone have experience with a relation between sleep apnea and hypothyroid?  It could also be that his sleep apnea is causing symptoms similar to those of hypo.

I, too, have seen information relating sleep apnea to hypothyroidism.  You might check here on MedHelp for articles/blogs by Dr Steven Parks, who is a sleep expert; he has some excellent information.

Thanks.  Yes, thankfully after my own experience if he goes in I'll have some clue as to what to insist on.  I am still new to it all though after 2 years of just ignorantly going along on Synthroid and not feeling any better.  I'm now seeing a much better doc.  But have not known of the antibody tests - can you direct me to where to find more info on those?  Web searching has so much info it's hard to know what's truly good and useful and what's a waste of time.
Thanks for your time!

I've seen info relating some sleep apnea to hypothyroidism.  Worth checking out if he also has other hypo symptoms.  If testing is to be done insist on FT3 and FT4, along with the ever present TSH.  Also test for the thyroid antibodies, TPO ab and TG ab.
