Thyroglobulin level

I had my Total Thyrodictomy on 31st May 2005 due to Papillary Carcinoma of thyroid. As every year, this year also I got my Thyroglobulin tested and the result shows as <0.2. Is the level normal in my present health condition? I am a female aged 33 years as on date.

This discussion is related to thyroglobulin.

That's good then.  That's exactly what you want it to do...stay low and be the same (or close) every year.

A snapshot look at TG isn't of much use.  TG is used mainly to monitor possible recurrence.  If your TG was elevated by thyroid cancer, goes down after surgery, then starts to rise again, it can indicate recurrence.  So, as far as TG is concerned, you have to look at it in series and see how it's trending.

What's the reference range on your TG test?  Do you have prior TG results to compare this one to?

How do you feel?
