hashimoto thyroiditis/hypothyroidism

hello everyone,
im 36 years old male, i suffer from hypothyroidism since im 18...i do levothyroxine 88 mcg,
ok,im a vegan for quite a bit, but, i wasnt aware of a possible defeciency of iodine in
vegan dieting
i know theres a lot of controversy regarding iodine supplementation from someone who
have hashimoto thyroiditis/hypothyroidism....
My question here is there any safe amounts of iodine supplementation that doesnt hurt thyroid....why all the discussions
about iodine go towads large amounts of iodine intake
i have on my own a multivitamin that contains 150mcg of iodine,is it safe to take on long run

I wouldn't worry too much about the amount of iodine in a multivitamin.  Your body does need some iodine, even if your thyroid is dead or removed.  Multivitamins tend not to contain the most bio-available forms of the nutrients.

If you're vegan, you should also keep an eye on your B-12.  B-12 only comes from animal sources.
