Well, I think I would rather have it without antibodies lol. But at least you have your diagnosis:) Cheers
Even though it's a drag to have to deal with any of this, at least now you know what you're dealing with.
Be well.
I have normal antibodies. Dr. says (and Dr. Lupo says) small percentage of people have hashi w/o antibodies. My TPO was <10; TGab <20. Normal labs, just continual swelling of thyroid and texture of thyroid is not smooth.
well welcome to the hashi's club!!!! i see you are on amrour and i am too, but i was not medicated until after i found out about hashi's. my GP decided to do blood work b/c i was tired all the time, and they found out my thyroid was out of wack, one month later i did the tpo test and came back positive, that was a little less than a year ago and it has been a crazy ride so far. what was ur anitbody count?
Thanks Amy! Hugs to you - hope you're doing well!
Hi. Glad to see that you have got to the bottom of what is going on. I was hoping it would be something that could just be fixed rather than a life long issue. The not knowing though I'm sure was driving you nuts! I hope the flare ups and very few and far between. Take care.
Hey Stella -- No - he says it will not go away (Hashi) I will continue to have flares. He believes when this started, I was having a bad flare. Armour seems to have calmed the flares (the decrease of blood flow evident from the US images) and we can see where it goes from here. I have the hashi texture of the gland, but am one of the lucky precentage that have hashi without antibodies.
I hope now you can move forward and get better soon!
I read in your report that they believe this thyroiditis is just temporary. Is that right?
Welcome to the wacked out world of Hashimoto's!!! Atleast you have some comfort in knowing that you're not crazy. We have all been through the frustration of having so many symptoms and yet no diagnoses. Then when all fails, it's "You Have Hashimoto''s." I would like to know why it took thousands and thousands of dollars to figure that out? Oh-, I guess I just answered that one.$$$$$$$$$$Now that's enough to make you fall out of your chair!! LOL
Thanks to both of you. He laughed and said one of these days he might have to take my thyroid away -- I think this was his version of a lame joke. He quickly said it would have to get bigger, etc. LOL. Just glad to get to a new step -- a name to the thing, ya know. It started out with --- Kim - I don't understand your US results at all! That was a good sign since I hadn't figured out how a person could have no nodules on US and have a Multinodular Goiter. He did say that the way the Imaging place words things, it seems to him to mean there are no cancerous finding, but tiny things. When he said that I just simply said -- well - what the **** is this. He burst out with "do you know what Hashimoto's thyroiditis is? That's what you have." I had to contain myself from falling out of the chair laughing (me and my nice folder with all my results and copies of troublesome pics from US and CT). I said yes, that's my thought too.
Yeah mommy for getting an answer!!
And to think they thought you were crazy with your symptoms at the beginning of your treck finding this diagnosis .. I am so happy you have an answer now .. we are here for you.
