I felt a pop in my head

Hello,
Last night I had just laid down to go to sleep when I felt something pop in my head. It was so severe that I actually heard it as well as felt it. I laid there waiting for something serious to happen but the only after effect was a warm sensation travelling over my whole body. The pop was on the left side of my head near the top and back. The best way to describe it is like something burst in my brain. (although I'm sure that if it had then I wouldn't be sitting here typing this)
Today I can feel a burning sensation on the inside of my skull in the same place I felt the pop.
I have suffered with daily headaches for several years and have had 2 MRI scans in the last year, both of which came back ok
I have also recently been diagnosed with vestibular dysfunction, which has caused constant dizziness for the past 8 months.
The pop wasn't anywhere near my ear so I don't think the 2 are connected.
Has anyone ever experienced a similar pop before? And does anyone have any idea what this could be.

Thanks,
Emma

Yesssss. Mine causes me to have dizzy spells. Then it feels as tho i can black out to, so i just wait to see if something eles will happen. I suffer from anxiety and the doctors always blame things on that so i hesitate a lot on going. But i do understand. Im praying for you.

I felt a similar experience when i took 2 tabs of LSD. No noticable effects since, except my worrying about it.

I also experienced the popping sound last March 21 on the back of my nose, maybe in the Eustachian tube area, left side. I cried too much when my dog passed away. Then I got colds from all that crying. Then headache followed on left side of the head and pain on left sinus. I still experience headache on the left side occasionally.

I had the same thing happen & it was after a full body massage that night as I went to sleep...woke to a loud POP accompanied by a feeling of horrible panic & anxiety that left when it did, leaving me confused as to what happened?  It felt like a surge of energy exploded through the top of my head!  I actually felt BETTER, like my peripheral vision was restored to its capacity & was very relaxed, so I decided not to call a dr. Think theres some truth to the third eye comment here...

I had this pop and a warm sensation exactly like you. I also waited for something to happen, but nothing:) went to the doc and was diagnosed with occipital neuralgia. There is a nerve in that area. No one has explained the popping sound though

I have been suffering from a Trumatic brain injury for years which has caused me to have a seizure disorder. I often get a liquid popping/explosion type sensation in various areas of my head over the years where there is also where there is also severe pain and  numbness. I recently asked the neurologist about this strange liquid sensation and the neurologist did not reply or give any answer as to why I may be feeling this way.  Since I deal with an extreme amount of pain on a daily basis from the seizure disorder/head injury it's difficult to know when I should be concerned about pain.   In the past year the pain has taken more  unique and varying forms such as sharpness, burning, pinching, numbness, and strange feelings I struggle to  describe. My vision and hearing has been going in and out of focus and I've had my hearing tested and it's perfect but it doesn't seem like sometimes my brain is able to  properly process sounds. Dr's have not been any help. I have also resently been having issues staying awake at time when I'm well rested. Anyone have any ideas as to what I'm dealing with or what I should be requesting from my DR's?

Have you had a pet scan?
I can relate, I have the exact issues word for word. I have a TB in 2006 that cause multiple strokes and I was in a coma for two months, plus I was pregnant. Why do people like us has these issues, and the doctors we have can't give us an answer. What they go to medical school and study? Just as so I found your comment and its perfect to question. Who do we ask?
