Thank you, Dr Kaul. Since my A fib was mild, infrequent and ending on its own my cardiologist has opted that I stop the coumadin at least for now. A 21 day eCardio loop event monitor was normal sinus rhythm the full time so we have to assume that Toprol and Rythmol are doing the trick for me.
Still it really bugs me, WHERE was the old blood coming from and WHY always old brown blood rather than some pink or fresh blood?
It took 2 1/2 weeks after the last dose of coumadin for there to be no more visible blood in the urine.
Hi there!
The blood in urine is likely to be a side effect of Coumadin, however its disuse is not advised since this is relatively not a major side effect compared against the benefits of using it in AFib; though you may likely to have the dosage adjusted after consultation with your cardiologist/ haematologist.
Hope this helps.
Take care!
