Fungal infection on my penis

I am 40, and for last six months having some fungal infection of my penis. Intially the outer layer of my skin started peeing off, i thought could be due to seasonal chnages, than some rashes appeared, and therefter rashes became RED and some places bold started coming out. My doctor gave me antifungal cream, within a week it was cured. I stopped the medication, the itching started and skin just below the penis ring became RED, agian I visited my doctor , who advised me to continue the antifungal cream for 4 weeks, which i contue. When I stopped, two days later two small pin hole type of spots appeared , which were littel painful. I consuted my doctor again, and he referred me to Skin specilist. The skin specilaist , after checking gave me another cream( antifunal), and told me to continue for 2 weeks and if appears again told me to see him.
while I am on medication, let me express that as soon as I start applying these creams within two to three days all the signs mentioned above disappears, however, as soon as stopped they appear again. The questions is do I have herpes, may be my doctor is afraid to declair to me . Whatever I ead on the intrenet, It looks like Herpes. Could you advise me .

Hello,
The symptoms are suggestive of balanitis and fungal infecion. It is an inflammation of the glans penis. It does not sound like herpes which presents as painful blisters which scab over.

Oral course of antibiotics is needed. In addition, pls don’t use any cosmetics on the penis, instead use some topical antimicrobials like Bacitracin or Lotrimin. Also corticosteroids and topical immunosuppressants can be used but they are available under prescription. Also retract the foreskin daily and soak in warm water to clean penis and foreskin. In case the symptoms persist then pls consult a urologist/dermatologist for evaluation and antimicrobials and steroids prescription.

I hope that helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.

Thanks for your feedback, its really helpful and relives lots of stress. This is my third day of Nystalocal cream application, all the sysmtoms have disappeared and everything looks fine. As suggested by Doctor, I would contineu the application for up to two weeks and see the results. Hope this time it disappears.

Is it permanently curable, or I will have to keep applying some kind of cream all the time. Is there any specific precuasions to be followed. I got my wife checked up by Speciflist, she is so far not infected, becuase whenever there is infection on my penis, we do not intercourse. I am also washing my penis twice daily before applying cream with liitle warm water.
The problem is this fungus comes all of sudden from nowhere, giving minimal time to react, for instance, just while drining to office the itching starts and by the time you at home, the condition is RED or may be a pin hole.
Pls advise a permanent cure, if any, may be comination of precuations as well medication.

Thanks once again for your reply.
