Tear to penis glans

Some time ago I must have torn the skin of my penis glans either having sex or I think maybe from getting it caught in my zip).

This healed to the extent that it is not bloody or anything and covered with skin,  but the skin did not form back together.  So I am left with a 0.5cm long horizontal tear/dent on my penis glans which when I'm erect becomes quite wide and causes frictions when I have sex.  To say I hate it would be an understatement (I already don't like the look of my penis head because i have another scar on the other side of it from having a skin bridge removed when I was younger).

Is there anything that can be done surgically to heal this tear in the skin?  It is not particularly deep but does not look pretty and like I say causes friction when having sex because it is horizontal.  i'm worried that it could tear more if I'm not careful.

Can old 'healed' wounds like this still be sutured shut?  If you were to suture skin to skin would is heal and become one or does it need to be a fresh wound?

Please respond as it's really bothering me now and i can't afford to waste money on a consultant just yet if nothing can be done.

Thanks.

Thanks

Part of the problem for me is cosmetic and i really dont want a scar - would secondary intention healing cause a scar?  Is it better to see a urologist or a plastic surgeon for cosmetic reduction of scars in this area?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
First of all the doctor will feel the depth of the wound with his hands and then the area will be cleaned with normal saline. Then with the help of a scalpel, scissors, or other instrument dead tissue is cut from the wound. All this is done under local anaesthesia. It is the quickest and most efficient method of debridement.
After debridement, dressings are applied which are to be changed periodically.Superficial opened wound can heal by secondary intention phenomenon, but if wound is a deep one, then resuturing of the wound is done.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
