Hi,

Yes, it is true that the body does not like antibiotics very much, especially the ones involving metrinidazole that may have been prescribed for combination therapy for the H.Pylori. It would probably even have left a metallic taste in your mouth which may have made all food taste bitter and appear unappealing.

Well, you do not need any more medications to fix the problem.

However, intake of yoghurt will restore noemal bacterial flora in the intestine. These bacteria are essential for the normal digestion of food and help reduce flatulence.

Drinking plenty of water will clear out the remaining metabolites of the medications that are still in your system.

Hi,

So it is likely that the discoloration was due to the antibiotics you were on.

However, dark or smelly stool is indicative of blood in the stool. This may have been due to the slight amount of blood that must have been swallowed during the procedure,

Also, some painkillers have been known to cause gastric irritation and bleeding, but only in individuals with a predisposition on account of prior ulcer or hyperacidity.

There is no cause for worry since your systems are back to normal, but it would be best to use any painkillers cautiously.

Hi,

It is possible that the change in the urine color and odor was due to the antibiotics that would have been prescribed or the pain killers and other medications that you must have been prescribed.

Now that the urine color is normal, it would not be necessary to see your doctor about it.

However, continue to drink fluids in excess of 2000 ml (8 glasses) per day.

Do keep us posted on your doubts and progress.
