Why can’t I, a 53 yr old male orgasm anymore?

I’ve not heard of this condition before and it’s not happened to me before now. It began last week when I took a Levitra to have sex with my spouse. All was well, and I was lasting extra long. She was finished, and then I kept trying for a while, but I could not. She tried other ways to help, but no luck. I haven’t been able to orgasm through any method since then. What does this sound like, and what can I do about it? I am a Type 2 Diabetic, and take Metformin, Januvia, and Zoloft for anxiety.

How long have you been on the zoloft? Antidepressants are known to cause this.

Is the Levitra new? Any other med new?

Is your diabetes well managed?

You should let your doctor know. The first thing to do is rule out anything physical, then talk about medications, then go to the psychological.

Good answer, auntiejessi - I was thinking exactly the same thing: Zoloft & other anti-depressants are known to have this side effect. Maybe the Dr. can prescribe a different one that doesn’t have that effect…
Thank you for your response auntiejessi! I have been on Zoloft for quite some time now. Years. And Levitra for several years, using it about once every two weeks. The Januvia I have been using about a year now. For my diabetes, I could do better. I do plan to see my doctor about it very soon.
Good luck, and let us know what happens. :)
