Hi,
How are you? I agree with Ron that after the test, you may need to urinate frequently, with some burning during and after urination for a day or two. It is important that you drink plenty of fluids to help minimize the burning and to prevent a urinary tract infection. Your symptoms highly suggest an infection and it is best that you have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. A urine test will help rule this out. Take care and do keep us posted.
Hi,
Depending on how they dealt with the blockage it can remain painful to urinate for a while.
Just think of the area being a normal wound on any other part of the body. In order for it to heal the body will produce a scab. Sometimes this scab comes off causing the area to bleed or become irritated again. The same with the urethra, but mcuh more complicated. As urine flows through the urethra the urethra is some what stretched. As this takes place the area of the strict is injured again causing mild pain. If there is severe pain, go in and have it checked out, however some pain discomfort and burning is to be expected.
In 1995 I had surgery on the bladderneck and prostate. Once I got home I thought that I was doing well. A couple of weeks later I woke up and upon urination turned the water in the toilet bright red. I went to emergency at our local hospital and a catheter was put back in for overnight. The following day the amount of blood in my drainage bag had cleared significantly. Later that day the catheter was removed and I was sent home again. Urination for the following 4 days caused mild pain and burning.
Just going in for a cystoscopy causes some mild burning for a day or two after. I have had so many of them that by about an hour after the procedure I no longer feel the effects.
I hope that you will heal well and that it will not reoccur.
All the best,
Ron
