I used to weigh in just about every day, but I've learned that daily fluccuations which although are totally normal, just end up making me want to hurl my scale through the nearest window, so I weigh in the same day every week, once a week (sometimes twice if I can't help myself lol). In the morning after going to the bathroom and always before eating or drinking anything. The scale is not always the most accurate way to track weight loss (sodium induced water retention, hormones etc) but once a week is more than enough to keep track of things for a general idea of how you're doing.
Great post about being fixated on the numbers .. that is the most common reaction and I'm finding Goku's poll results fascinating .. those partaking in it so far have experienced weight loss success and demonstrate perseverence ... do you suppose there is a correlation to the answer???
I'm with Trudie, first thing in the morning and in my birthday suit ... it's the only way I can accurately weigh without the fluctation that occurs in clothing and time of day.
LOLLL .. light pants and shirts .. remember doing that as well. And, I always weighed at the doctor's office WITHOUT my shoes .. ;)

I do it daily first thing in the am before work.
I try to get myself to do it weekly same day and time but I have this pull toward it and have to do it.......I had a really bad problem before, like weigh myself six times a day. After I had my bypass surgery I was so fixated on numbers I forgot all about staying healthy I was exercising and starving myself to get to my goal weight and so I got in a bad rut and became so vitamin and mineral deficient it took me a very long time to actually get myself balanced......so I really try to convince myself that I only need to do it weekly.

lol how funny Trudie!! I know that does make a difference! I thought i had gained weight but the next time i got on the scale i made sure i just had some lite shorts and a lite shirt on and sure enough i had lost lbs and not gained!!
