Late Nite Snack Cravings?

Ok who gives into the late nite snack cravings? The question is when though!  Im just wondering lol!! I feel like the food is taking over again and that rule about everything tasting better after midnite is happening!! But I feel so guilty to eat that late at nite that i refuse to give into my cravings so i wanna see what you guys do and if i should be eating anything so late!! It's irritating me too cus i know if I get too hungry I will not want to exercise the next day so what do you guys think?

I usually have dinner around 6:30-7 PM and don't eat again after that.  Though I do go to bed early and sleep a lot as a consequence of other health matters, so maybe in a way that is an advantage?

My problem lately is I've been falling into the habit of skipping or skimping on breakfast and lunch.  For me it is a cylce:  I'll overeat one day and then not feel hungry the next morning.  So then I eat less breakfast and/or lunch, and then end up eating too much dinner and repeating the same mess!  I need to get back on track with eating proper meals and small snacks...

If I'm feeling hungry at night...no matter what time, even after midnight....I will have a healthy snack.  I make sure that I have things at the ready so that it does not require much thought at that hour.  I would rather have a 'midnight snack' than a 3 a.m. binge any old day and a snack helps me to avoid that.  Just my thinking anyway.

I have the same cycle as you wonko...but I'm working on it.  I'm using some shakes so that I can just drink it down when I really don't feel like breakfast.  I have to use soy milk with them because I can't tolerate regular, but it works out pretty good.  I am making myself do it, but I know that it will be good for me in the long run.   I also have some protein bars that I love that are low in calories and also have quite a bit of fiber.  Those are great for a snack or a light meal on the go when I just don't wanna eat and they are good for me too.

Well I never binge late-late at night, but right before my cut-off time for eating. It's awful and until this moment I didn't really realize what I was doing. It seems to me I'm just dumping a ton of calories on myself so that I'll try to feel full when I stay up late. I really need to tone that down and go to bed sooner.

I've read that night time eating really doesn't affect your weight, only if it is additional calories over your daily needs.  If I feel especially hungry in the evening I will have an Activia yogurt or a few almonds or a slice of low fat cheddar to kill the craving plus a big glass of water.
