Thanks on all the ideas .............I love the Italian Wedding soup .. it usually goes on sale very inexpensive this time of year .. I think 10 cans of Progresso for $10.00 sometimes!

To make your salads more interesting try adding fruit (strawberries, kiwi, mandarin oranges, fresh figs, etc.), nuts, seeds, artichoke hearts, hearts of palm, edamame beans, blanched vegetables (asparagus, green beans, peas, broccoli, cauliflower, etc.), raw mushrooms, shredded carrots, or crumbled feta or goats milk cheeses. Add beans or lentils. I also love marinating a flank steak, grilling it, and slicing it thinly and putting it in the salad. Fresh herbs at variety too.
The Italian wedding soup sound great. Guess what's on my shoppin list? I'm just so salad out. I just don't like salads unless it has grilled chicken in it. I always use the Balsamic vinagerette, but the salad thing just turns me off. Maybe it's because I hate tomatos, can't handle onions or any kind of peppers. So my salad consist of baby spinach, cucumbers. romane lettuce and very little dressing. Yep, the soup sounds good to me.
I've been eating a small serving of Activia yogurt, a glass of Heinz tomato juice (yes, the brand matters to me), a few almonds or a small slice of cheese when the hungries hit. I also try drinking another glass of water before I reach for something to eat in case it is just thirst I am feeling.
CCN - CONGRATULATIONS on your choice!!! Very WELL DONE!!!
All - No need to be hungry .. just need to realize those items you can eat that will benefit you and help you to feel full! If you feel hungry, go home and eat something additional to stop the "hunger" ... as there are times when it can lead to uncontrolled eating.
In time, you are most correct that your tummy shrinks and smaller portions will fill you. However, there are still certain days that I feel really hungry or I know I am truly being called to eat. For those times, here's what I select and it provides an "Instant Cure" ....
Campbell's Select Soups - My favorite is Italian Wedding Soup ... entire can is 2 cups and is 220 calories! Eat up!
The other is fresh salad greens with the 2 TBSP Paul Newmann Light Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing (20-40 calories greens and 40 calories dressing) ... can eat a whole plate ... just remember the shaker trick.
Apple - Has lots of fiber and is filling.
What other foods would you recommend?
Dont you just hate that i sure do :) ive cut back on my portion size and it leaves me still hungry so what i do is eat a fruit or raw veggies not sure if your into eating those but it seems to help with the hunger i also heard nuts are really good for you not the candy coated or salted ones tho like almonds peanuts walnuts cashews the plain ones there actually not at all that bad. Good for you!
It can take time for your appetite to adjust. If you keep eating less, over time your body will feel full faster.
I've always had a big problem with portions (pun intended!). So I eat a lot of raw veggies to fill up, also lots of water and unsweetened tea (decaf).
