Nothing silly about that - my husband used to work night shift and I actually worked at a decent time too, so when he left for work about 9:30 or 10:00 at night, I'd lock up, turn on the radio and go for it. It's wonderful exercise, even though I have absolutely NO rhythm and if anyone saw me *dance*, they would tell me to go sit in the corner....that's the beauty of being alone!!!
My hubby now works days, as do I and he HATES my kind of music, so I just don't do that anymore; however, sometimes, I take my MP3 and go for a walk --- can't sing either, so I guess that's why I hear doors slamming shut as I walk by, huh??? lol
This may sound really really silly! But, this is how I kept the wieght off! When no one is home lock all the doors and shut all the blinds and then turn the music up really loud and just dance non-stop for a good hour! Its fun and its arobics so your burning calories and it works out your legs!
Definitely there is no gain without any pain! You got to be moving buddy! i think Barb and Peterbndrd has already given you some great tips!
hey you can try doing power yoga it will help you come back to shape and also helps your body to relax. of course diet should be under control. try it once .
Do you do your schooling at home? That should give you ample opportunity to get up and move around once in a while if you aren't sitting in a regular classroom. It's always good to change your focus once in a while.
If you can't move around much during the school day, there should be time after your studies are done to take a walk and/or get some other type of exercise.
I Go to Internet school As well cause due to regular school i get into fights and cant concentrate on school work so i switched to Internet schooling.
Walking is always a good exercise to start with. Try spending 30 minutes less on the computer every day and take a walk instead. You don't have to walk fast - just a nice steady pace. Or if you can't do 30 minutes all at once because of your asthma, try taking 3 - 10 minute walks, then try to work your way up to, say 3 - 15 minute walks, then 2 - 20 minute walks. You can also try jumping rope and there are all types of floor exercises that can be done inside in air conditioning. Since you love the computer, you might try doing a search for exercises that you might enjoy - I know there are tons of them on the internet that you can watch for free.
AND - I have to tell you that you aren't going to be able to "spot reduce" just your thighs. As you exercise and hopefully lose weight, you will lose it all over and also hopefully become stronger and more toned.
Make sure your diet includes lots of fresh fruits and veggies, lean protein, at least 3 servings of low fat/fat free dairy (milk, yogurt, cheese, etc). Veggies, such as a garden salad are wonderful for filling you up without a lot of calories.
I'd also recommend that you try using the food diary here on Med Help to list everything you eat in a day's time - you might be eating a lot more calories than you think you are. By writing down every bite of food you take, you will be able to look back at it and see just exactly where the problem might lie. I don't always have time to update my food diary on MH, so I carry a little day planner with me and try to make sure I write down everything in there - since you will soon be going back to school, if you haven't already, this might be an easy way for you to keep track.
Hope this helps -- good luck.
Forgot to add that , I also do around 80 jumping jacks b4 i go to bed every night. (Not all at once.) Just like 40 then take like a 5 min break then do it again then i go to bed.
(Not sure if it really helps anything but i thought it would since its basicly excersize)
