Yes, hormonal changes can occur early in some girls, and the swollen nipples (if both equally swollen, and there is no visible abnormality).  She may begin her period soon, so educate her on using pads (NOT tampons!  She must be more mature to take the cautions needed for that), and make sure she carries a couple with her in her purse.  A helpful thing for her would be a dry run.  Have her wear a pad around the house for a few hours, so she can know what it feels like.  Also, take some red koolaid in a turkey-baster, put a pad on the counter, and let her watch how much the pad can soak up before leaking onto the countertop.  This is useful info for her.  Then she should know that it's OKAY to wear a pad at school, even if she is unsure about her period - I wore pads at school a full year before my period started, but having one on was comforting, knowing that if it came in the middle of history class, I was protected.  As far as the nipples, it may be time for her first bra (or 2-3) so they aren't just 'out there' for all to see.  Hugs - Blu
