I am 24 yrs and I have been having a discharge its color is whitist yellow and its thick like cold sometime it itches me and it smells, since I was 16,I didn't have anyboyfriend and iI wasn't having sex, I went to di doctor and I got a cream and some viginal tablets seven of them, I was told to use them for one week but after the one week it came back this it has a powerish appearance when it is dry. I can't seem to get rid of it everytime i go to the doctor and get medication for it a day after I finish taking the meds it comes back. I want your help please
Go back to the doc dont wear under clothes to bed sometime it helps and eat yogurt drink cranberry juice

Bacterial vaginosis is the most common cause of abnormal vaginal odor and discharge. It is caused by a change in the type of bacteria found in the vagina.
The exact cause for the change in type of bacteria is still not known, but it is can be due to IUD’s,multiple sex partners or having intercourse with a new partner.
In addition to unpleasant "fishy" vaginal odor, thin white or yellowish discharge from vagina may also be present. Diagnosis can be confirmed after pelvic examination and microscopic examination of the vaginal discharge. Treatment is by metronidazole((Flagyl, MetroGel) and clindamycin (Cleocin).They are available as pills or vaginal gels or creams. Please do not use any vaginal douches.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
