Well, I know you were on the PPI but have you tried something more simple like Tagamet or Pepcid? I can't take PPI as it GIVES me gastric pains but the others control my heartburn when I've had it chronically. Try it and see. But it does sound like you will need to see your doctor. Upper stomach pain can also be gall bladder related. For heartburn, acid reflux and gall bladder issues, sometimes certain things can reduce them. What we eat and when. Acidic foods, soda and coffee are no no's and eating at night and keep away from fatty and processed foods. Also, losing 5 to 10 pounds can make a real difference if there is any chance you need to. I had issues with BOTH acid reflux AND gall bladder and losing 10 pounds made it better, no joke (well, and being aware of what I ate and when). It just really did make a huge difference. Anyway, a doctor is good to see when you can afford it. good luck
