ok long question but i was wondering, I've been off depo for about a month and i started the shots around nov 21st of 2OO9(1Omonths of use)....me n my boyfriend are really looking forward to a baby together and im scared that we'll have to wait for a long time i am young so im not going to put my age out there but in way older than 15.
just wondering could anyone help me cause lately i've been having headachs, stomach pain, n even felt a head rush after making a fast move (all of these i did not even expirence to much of while on depo).EVEN though sometimes i've been bloated and i know thats a side affect of the depo too.i've also noticed my stomach had a little pudge n it kinda hurts n i feel preasure when i push on it but i don't just wanna go buy a HPT and i waist my money cause its a effect of the depo shot's after effects
i've taken on detox bath,n i've been drinking lots of water..with lemon juice..(i also gained only 1O pounds but i've lost some of that weight already) SOOOO I REALLY WANT TO KNOW I HATE THT MY MOM CHOOSE THIS ******* SHOT IN THE FIRST PLACE! I JUST WANNA KNOW WHT YOU ALL THINK!

I have been off the shot since February 2015 been getting this injection since I was 13 years old I am 22 hoping I can get pregnant soon after 3 months off the depo I was sad and angry all the time fought with anyone that gave me a hard time I would just start yelling and then crying it wasn't easy for me and my boyfriend just recently stated getting my cycle once a month but sometimes a couple times a month and pain during intercourse in my lower abdomin area thought it was him until I researched the depo Vera method every month about 3 different times I get discharge and irritation down there but only last a day or two so I have been taking cranberry pills and prenatal vitamins also folic acid tablets to try to get my body back to normal I believe I can still conceive but I'm thinking it'll take a year or longer so I'm being patient with life on that note I haven't gotten in mood swing during my period or out of the blue so something I'm doing is helping although I can't live on cranberry pills don't know how safe those can be since so many things have nonsense additives I do smoke cigarettes I try to quit but it helps with stress I have lost a lot of weight since I stopped the shot but acne has gotten worse I don't know what to do except wait and keep doing my own methods since I don't have a doctor or insurance health plan I wish I never took birth control but I'm glad I never got pregnant by any of my previous relationships all thanks to it never had a period during these injections so I constantly worried I would have that 4% pregnancy chance got hpv tested because I heard too many infections will lead to hpv virus that would make it even harder for me to except but excersize and take folic acid / prenatal supliments and cranberry pills and I do take taking zinc to help flush all that unnecessary toxins out a tiny bit faster than doing nothing so I wish all you ladies that are trying to become a mommy lots of luck and hope there is a ton of patience in your heart cause it isn't easy thinking that something that helped temporary could change a lifetime taking all the supplements I said as we speak once a day 2 prenatal 2 cranberry pills 2 folic acid pills and 1 zinc 50 MG tablet each night thanks for advice and sharing experience it'll help one of us out there I'm sure stay positive

Hey :)

Coffeegirl125 is right about depo.
I was on the shot for 6 months, have been off of it for approx 2 months and still haven't had a period.

But, all of the symptoms you have described seem to be quite common with many women post-depo.

Personally, I'd give it another month or so before you start stressing. It can take awhile to leave your system completely. If you don't get a period or the symptoms continue, see your GP just to be on the safe side.

Like coffeegirl125 said, there are medications available to help you with becoming 'regular' again.
I'm currently taking Metfomin (Diabex) to help as I also have PCOS. This medication tends to have a high rate in aiding couples with concieving.

Good luck! xx

It can take 3 months after your last depo shot for your body to return to normal reproductive cycles. Often, women will not ovulate for several months. You are probably experiencing symptoms from your body trying to re-adjust! Have you had a period since stopping? I'm with you, and from years of working for an OB/GYN plus ten years of LandD...I DO NOT like depo. If preg test is negative, their are meds your gyn can give to "restart" your system, have a period and then proceed naturally from there. Good luck honey.
