Vulva itching

Okay. So I have been having vaginal issues. It all started after I had sex with my boyfriend, it was protected sex. But now I have a itching sensation of the vulva and ammonia smell. It isn't always itching, just randomly it will itch. I just recently started getting a light yellow, snotty discharge and also a burning sensation when I pee and even when I am just sitting there I'll start feeling it. Me and my boyfriend have never had sex with anyone else, where each others first so I'm not thinking it has anything to do with std's but I'm still not sure. Could it be BV?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Foul smelling thick vaginal discharge is commonly due to vaginal infections. Vaginal infections occur when bacteria, fungi or viruses grow in and around the vaginal area. This is usually because they are transmitted, for example during sexual intercourse.
Hence get a culture of the vaginal discharge done to confirm the diagnosis.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
