Lump on bikini line

I'm 18 years old, and not sexually active. I've had a lump under my skin on my bikini line for probably 3 years on and off now and have no idea what it could be. Sometimes when I wear underwear it starts to get irritated (maybe inflamed?). It hurts to touch, it's about an inch long (if that), and I can sort of move it under my skin. It's somewhat solid obviously but I think I can sort of push down on it. Also, no hair will grow where the lump is. I haven't gone to the doctor because I didn't think it was really a big deal, but I'm still curious as to whether or not I should be doing anything about it?

I really don't think it is an in grown hair. It doesn't seem to resemble one from what I've seen. Thanks for the reply!
