Vaginal friction around labia minora

I had sex with my boyfriend a couple of days ago and I don't remember feeling much soreness after but yesterday I noticed I felt a very faint stinging pain. I ignored it since I just assumed it was soreness I was feeling. But today I actually decided to pay attention to it as I felt the stinging again. So I took a closer look and I noticed some redness on my labia minora and what looked like a friction burn. I looked closer and thought I could tell that the skin was irritated, the problem area had swollen skin cells whereas the surrounding area was normal. I've applied some ointment to the area to stop the swelling and pain. Is this something I should have my doctor look more closely at?

It really is just likely to be a friction reaction.  It may itch a bit as it heals but heal overall.  If it doesn't, then see your doctor.  I'd give it a week or so to get better.  good luck
