Recurrent yeast infection?

I treated my first yeast infection in March, it took a long time to go away. But after I was done treating it the NP said it was normal to still have some irritation afterwards, as the yeast damage the tissue.

Now fast forward to now. I have been switching on and off different birth controls trying to find one that works. IUD, then mini pill due to breastfeeding, then regular combo pill. I have had spotting about the entire time since I had my baby, until a week ago.

I was feeling intermittent irritation in my vagina for about a week and worried it was yeast infection. Finally I was feeling very itchy one morning and decided to start clotrimazole. I went to see PCP and they wouldn't do a swab because I had already started clotrimazole. I was much better for the 7 days I did treatment, even though I still had the intermittent irritation. TODAY...first day off med and I woke from sleep very itchy. I'm not sure if this is the "continued irritation after treatment" thing the NP was talking about.....or if it's just still there. It's 4th of july....I'm out of town...no way to see a doctor idt. I put some vaseline on it for a little bit of relief.

What is this?? yeast returning? tissue damage? NOT yeast infection? (they tested me in march for all the other fun stuff btw)

I want to restart the clotrimazole but I know if I do they won't test me for yeast tomorrow.  And I want to make sure it's yeast. I have thought about stopping my birth control pills as well. Things I've done since the 3rd. ...probiotic , plain yogurt with cultures, ph sensitive vaginal wash, no panties at night

...etc. ...and the only thing that helps is ice down there.

hi I'm cupid
I have has a yeast infection for a week and a half.  It's not the first yeast infection I have has I have had many during my time. I never had a problem with using the meds. given and I was fine again.  My husband and I separated for about two months.  Since then I gotten this yeast infection from hell!!  The discharge is so thick and solid it can fall out with my legs open of course! And the time we had sex it was so thick and sticky on him I requested that he take a shower, and myself also.  My husband claimed he had not been with anyone but where are these strange events coming from?  I have seen the doctor and I was given the pill to take for three days.  It looked so bad to him, but I was tested for anything else and I was fine. what can I get over the counter?

Hi My Dear...I'm so sorry you are feeling such discomfort on this July 4th holiday....can I advise you to continue with a second dose of Clotrimazole ( this will not harm you and may get to the heart of the problem ) as sometimes just one treatment is not enough...if symtoms return after second round of treatment please go and see you doctor for a chat as I'm really not sure if irritation should continue after the medication has been completed. Please let me know how you get along with this? Hugs. E.
