Why does my clitoris hurt?

I'm a 17 year old girl, never had sex before and the tip of my clitoris hurts all the time. It gets really bad if I end up like touching it the wrong way or my jeans touch it the wrong way, it will end up hurting for days at a time. It literally affects what I wear, how I sit, how I walk. I've looked up things other girls have said but it cannot be normal. It's too sensitive to where idk if i'm ever even going to be able to have sex. Should I get it checked out?
