So since you have been on the pill are you taking it continuously or do you take a week break?
Endometriosis can't be detected on any test the only way to diagnose is through laparoscopic surgery.
Painful periods and heavy flow are an indicator of Endo but it is also one with Adennomyosis.
I am the the original person to post:
I use to have very painful periods and I use to have a heavy flow. my last two have been super light and almost painless. Her answer to that was my body maturing. And the weight gain is simply my body finally reacting to my birth control, which I have been on for almost two years.
I disagree with what she is saying to you. I would still push for an ultrasound .
I just going to throw this out there, do you have palmful periods ?
I am the orginial person to post:
So today I went to the Dr. again. She did an exam and she says for sure it is not cysts or pregancy or fibers. She has absolutely no idea as to what is going on. She said an ultra sound at this point won't do much and to monitor everything. I guess I am back to watching calorie intake and excersing a lot.
I had the same symptoms. I had an two ovarian cysts that wound up being huge! I was not pregnant nor was my thyroid having an issue.
I have always been a size 7/8. Then suddenly i started to gain a LOT of weight. I just felt bad. I started running up to 8 miles a day and eating low calories. It really wasnt scientifically possible to keep gaining!
I would definitely get it checked. It may not be an emergency, but just when you have an opportunity to make an appt -- I would ask a lot of questions at the gyno. Thats how it was discovered. I wish you well and I hope its nothing!! let me know if you need anything.
:-)
Have you had an ultrasound to check to see if you have any cysts on your ovaries?
That is the first thing I think of when I read your post. Usually people that have cysts start to gain weight for no reason as if they are pregnant looking.
Possibly an ovarian cyst. They can get pretty big. I'd ask for an ultrasound next, or even an MRI.
