Granulation tissue on vaginal wall 8 years after uterus and cervix removed.

I had a partial hysterectomy, bladder sling, and rectal sling done May 2010. I have been bleeding for the past 7 -8 years. I have had the granulation tissue silver nitrated too many times to count, I have had in scraped out with no drugs ( which I tried not to scream during) once, and I’ve been anesthetized for scraping twice. No matter what it comes back. The bleeding is none stop. I cannot have intercourse with my husband because it looks like a crime scene by the time we are done and recently it has begun to smell oddly. I cannot stand it anymore and i am at my wits end. 8 years I’ve been going through this. I had the hysterectomy due to several abnormal Pap smears with a typical cells. It seemed like the right thing to do at the time, but now I really regret it.

Wow, I'm sorry you are going through this. I had a hysterectomy years ago, and it was the best decision I ever made.

Have you been seeing the same doctor this entire time? Perhaps it's time for a new one, and a second opinion for treatment options. Find one who works at a teaching hospital, as they are often up on all the current info for treatments.

Have they ever biopsied this to make sure it's granulation and not something else?

Yes, I have gone through 3 doctors. The last one has been a Gynecologistwe for 40 years and has never seen anything like this. I have an appt with a 4th doctor next month.
We are military so I will see someone different at our next duty station.
Never been biopsied. No one has ever seemed worried about it.
Wow. I'd ask for a biopsy. Maybe it is just granulation, but at this point, I'd want to make sure.

I found this article - http://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/article_453706.htm It lists some causes, some I'd never heard of, so maybe it will give you a starting point to talk over with your new doc. I hope it helps.
