Argh, you've been through the ringer. So, antibiotics are often responsible for yeast infections. You had to take the antibiotic for your BV so a yeast infection is no surprise. Doctors should tell women this! Same with cipro. I don't think I've ever taken that without getting a yeast infection. The urinary tract infection is likely unrelated to the BV. So, most women get UTI's from . . . don't get grossed out . . . but small bits of fecal matter entering the urethra. One bad wiping experience after a bowel movement . . . and that can be the result. It can happen during sex too if there is any touching of yoru anus. So, keep that in mind. BV is also bacterial. Taking the cipro wouldn't cause your BV but it kills good bacteria along with bad bacteria in your system and allows BV to happen easier. Darn the luck, right? So, all of this is unfortunate that they build off of each other a little. Probiotics help, cutting down on sugar and cotton underwear changed often, especially when damp (BV loves the dark, damp environment where there is low air circulation). Even consider sleeping without underwear a night or two to air out.
So sorry for your miscarriage! Many women are slightly more infertile after their miscarriage so are you trying again? Let us know how that goes!
But unfortunately, the infections you are having one after the other are a pretty common pattern. good luck
I'm so sorry for your loss and for the frustrations with infections now- I can only imagine how discouraging this must be for you.
Probiotics are recommended to help prevent yeast infections, but it's not always going to be effective. Talk to your doctor about the series of infections and let them know you are TTC again- you may want to request an ultrasound just to make sure that everything is clear.
