Horrible yeast infection! Please help!

For a few days not, my vagina has been rather tender. Yesterday I began to get the cottage-cheesey discharge down there and knew it was another yeast infection. It wasn't bad... just a bit raw and ichy. I got some Monistat 1 (the cream in a syringe-type-thing) and inserted it at about three this morning, after I came home from a concert. At six I woke up and it felt like fire ants were having a party down there! It hurt so, so, SO badly! Now it's two pm and my vagina and vulva are so swollen and red... and it hurts like no other! I have been eating raw garlic like a mad man to help it heal, but I just want to know what I can do to make it go away!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
First of all it can be due to allergic reaction or contact dermatitis to your undergarments, sanitary napkins or tampons, soaps or to Monistat even. There is no change in the colour or smell of discharge in this case.
Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps.

For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used. Also use good quality moisturizers and wear cotton clothes.

If the symptoms persist then get it evaluated from a dermatologist.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

The thing is, is that I used monistat before and it worked! I used the little egg-type pearl on an applicator

You may have been allergic to monistat. Remember to drink lots of cranberry juice. but since its swollen and red. Soak in a  epsom bath for about 30-45 minutes. The water shold be hotter then warm, and then add about 1/4 cup epsom salt theat should help the swelling
