will not not start period without inserting tampon

I hate asking about this online, but noone has ever heard of it.......I am 35 and have used tampons for 21 years.  For as long as I can remember I get real crampy and I basically know when to put in a tampon, if I don't, the bleeding will not start.  I only go for 2 or 3 days lightly.  I am concerned this month because I am heavy with blood clots.  I am going to the doctor, but he hasn't heard of not starting unless inserting a tampon either.  Does anyone else have this problem?  Thank you.

Inserting a tampon does not trigger your period to come. I don't really understand your question, are you asking why your period is so heavy this time?
