My mistake, sorry. Do not did not have the cryoballoon procedure.
Look for donna4140 on here. She just had cryoablation on Friday and is recuperating now at home.
Can't comment about the pain experienced during the procedure, but I would imagine that it's very possible considering the area has a nerve bundle passing close by the puncture site.
Don't be surprised if you bruise gets a lot worse before it gets better. Look up "hematoma" in Wikipedia, and that's how mine looked except it was on my inner thigh. It drained down into my knee joint before being absorbed of a period of 2 or 3 months. The bruise mark made the area it was in sensitive to the touch and massaging the area was a bit painful.
It is completely normal to feel pain in the groin area. My pain was pretty good for about a week before it started to feel better. Then it took another couple of weeks for the pain to completely go away. For the most part it wasn't that bad though. Your description of bruising like the sunset is perfect. It gets uglier for a little bit and then it quickly disappears. Google bruising. I good site I like to go to is ehow.com to find answers to many things. Congratulations on getting the ablation.
