What are you on for the autoimmune conditions.
I just got off of zetia and welchol. I could not take statins. I tried them all. Used to take Niaspan and fenofibrate but they took me off cause both cause problems in some and had not 'reduced the incidence of cardiac events'. I think they have concluded that neither do Zetia, except when used with a statin, so it is the statin doing the work. I also think Welchol has been shown to not reduce cardiac events too. not sure. I am on Repatha. Third bi weekly shot. have about 1/3 of the severity of symptoms that I had on statins. headache, muscle aches. may put up with it and may not. just keepin on keepin on for now. Will see if this gets better, worse or stays the same.
I am almost convinced that it is all about inflamation and that if I take garlic, turmeric, blueberries, bromelain and quercetin and aspirin, I might be just as well off and without pain. Have the $5 copay card on Repatha (wife is on too and has no problems and had less but still too many problems on statins) but we go on medicare in a year and then the $5 copay card turns into $150-$400 per month. Will keep her on, cause her numbers are VERY bad and I will probably go back to Welchol and zetia, for what it is worth.
Thanks for the advice, Oh! I forgot to mention I was taking 81mg of aspirin before my heart attack, but the cardiologist changed that to 325mg of aspirin. I think I will talk to my doctor about that medication because my medication is no longer working my blood pressure yesterday was 212/130 heart rate 69 I hope this gets better. Thanks and Merry Christmas
Atenenol peaks but does not remain constant. Atenenol is good for blood pressure, but if you have Heart failure you should talk to your doctor about Coreg. Coreg blocks two receptors and has proven studies to reduce mortality. All your other medications is what I would expect you to be on. You could ask the doctor if you can take 81mg aspirin daily also.
