Daughter was on oxy for 4 years and its been ruff getting off. This was becuz of a hernia surgery gone bad . More pain after the surgery. Tapering off sounds great except somedays its than others. Shes determined to cold turkey it its been month with none but the withdrawals get very painful. She has heard of the suboxen should we stay away from it?
yep...got all ur tools in place and ur plan is doable...set urself up for winning this battle..it is kinda like a war...between urslf and ur DOC as u want to keep the u whom ur family loves,,..and the pills who want to change u into that person who puts pills first...leaving u and those u love to suffer//moving forward,,making a plan...good luck 2 ya!
Thanks-its good to know.I go to multiple meetings weekly.Evened helped to start the first one in this area.Wouldnt have made it without N.A..Never thought I would go through this again but I do have the tools in place-cant pretend it is uncharted territory .
ochooked quit taking sub and has stayed clean..there are many others...post a new question asking who has used sub and then kicked it and stayed clean..they r out there..uu r doing a good thing..but kicking another narcotic is probably not what u had in mind...hind sight is 20/20...but this is where ur are now and it sounds like u r doing a good job getting clean..meetings are so important and i see so few on here that go to them..put all the balls in ur court..and u will win
My thanks -man when I entered the addiction center to get off the oxy they told me the suboxone would be temporary but it became apparent that was not the case.I very much appreciate the help they gave me but I wish we had stuck to the origional plan.I was educated to believe people who stop taking it have almost no chance of saying clean. Now of corrse I know that the longer you take it the harder to kick it.Sounds familiar doesnt it?I am in N.A. but strangely I dont know anyone else going through this.-at least successfully.
I am so sorry to hear of your predicament but not too surprised. My own experience with Sub was enough to make me realize that many people get caught in the same trap you now find yourself. Sub is so powerful that many end up being unable to break its grip -- sometimes even after only a short time of use. The only way I know is to taper as low as you can and then be prepared for a long recovery until you get to the end of the W/D's. I wish you well in your effort to get off of this potent and most addictive drug. All the best.
