14 Days and feel fabulous!

Oh what a difference one day can make. Yesterday as I read everyones recovery posts, I kept thinking "this would never happen to me" (feeling normal again) -- Today is the 1st day in 2 weeks that I truely feel normal. Gnarly you were so right (I think it was you that said 2 weeks!).  For those of you on day 1, 2 Or 7  HANG IN THERE, try and stay mentally positive, ask for help if you need it (I got a Dr's help) -- stay on the board. In my weakest moments I would turn to the board and my faith! We all know how difficult it is but do what you have to to keep it up! I know I will have difficults times but I am savoring in every moment that I have feeling good and normal agasin!  I am back at work today so able to post a bit more -- ordered a home computer (ours crashed - which was hard for me as the board accessibility for me was minimal) it will be here next week ---  I will keep checking in !

Wow Lindsay-good thoughts. I have always been of the opinion that most of us addicts are very smart. Too smart maybe-easily bored with things other people find vastly entertaining, always questioning things that other people don't give a second thought. This leads to frustration, leading to drugs (including my old pal ETOH), then the mess you have created leads to MORE frustration....and the beat goes on

He uses the weak to lead the strong... I find myself wondering if we were all so good at finding drugs and ways to get "high," then how cool is it that we found this board to help us get our life back? See I think us addicts are much more adaptive and resourceful than we know. We just have to want it and keep wanting it. Life. lol. kinda mushy, sorry.

Thank you for your comments back.  It feels so good! I think I am addicted to this board now! I hope that I can only give back as much as I have gotten and continue to get.

Jax,
So  glad you are experiencing some positive reinforcement. Your comments about this board are also good to hear. I was without a computer a lot when I was traveling, and found myself relying on my Blackberry. Even though it was so SLLLLLLLLLLLLLow, I didn't care. I get so much strength and also a cold slap in the face from this board.

if you don't think pills, coke, heroin, or booze are a problem, just read the posts from 5 random people. This stuff is bad and a lot of people are fighting it.

I am so glad to be hooked up with this group = seeking life. ~Lindsay
