I've taken xanax here and there. It hit my pleasure center hard! I saw the writing on the wall and quickly developed a healthy fear of the stuff thank God. I'm an addict.

I read that out of all the benzos, it's the most addicting. Very "quick acting" to say the least. If you binge like you describe, soon the binges start to get more frequent. Binges quickly become a constant addiction, especially with a drug like xanax. Do a search on Xanax withdrawal you'll be surprised how bad the WDs actually are. Read about the withdrawal symptoms. Look for threads with ppl going thru WDs. I'm sure you'll find some on this site. Learn everything you can about the drug.

Robin, you're doing well seeking help like you are. You just took a huge step in the right direction. Like NoLife4Me mentioned, cut off your sources ASAP. If you keep getting cravings then it's time to look into some serious aftercare.

Are you getting them from your Dr?    If so, then tell your Dr that you are having a problem with them so he won't give you anymore.   If you are getting them from a friend, tell the friend you don't want them.   The hardest part is admitting we have a problem, then admitting that to others.  Once we put up barriers to protect ourselves, the rest is a mental battle to stay away from them.   How much are you taking in excess?    Benzos are very addicting and withdraw from them is pure he11 from what I hear.    Are you in wd now?
