24 Hours in...Need advice.

I've been on 7.5/325 about 6 to 8 a day for near 2 years now. I've gone a few days without anything here and there while waiting for my refill, but I am tired of living script to script. I'm done. I've taken 1 pill in the last 48 hours, (it was over 24 hours ago) and I currently feel fine, other than sneezing and runny nose. I have plenty of xanax to help me sleep, but I just wondering what I am in for over the next few days. I have the weekend off, but not sure if I need to take a sick day on Monday. I'm really nervous and honestly scared of what is yet to come... Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, the depression is starting to set it and I think this is only the beginning.

I played in a kickball game tonight with my friends. I ran my butt off, and I had a blast. I couldn't help but think of how much more fun it would have been had I had a few norcos with me. Regardless, it felt great to be physically active again. I'm sure waking up tomorrow sore is gonna be rough, but I have no options to even get my hands on anything. Kind of feels good to actually feel something. I'm worried that with a fractured vertebrae I'm always gonna be in pain. How do I deal with pain like that by not taking pain pills?

Don't get ahead of yourself and for goodness sakes GET RID OF ALL PILLS.  You will for sure cave if the withdrawals set in and then you are back to square one.
Get rid of the pills.
Cut your sources.
Tell your secrets.
Surrender to the process.  If you're at 72 hours and you're still feeling not too bad, then you probably won't.  72 hrs is the peak, and even though you took one pill, you should be in full on w/d right now.
I would caution you about the Xanax,
I do think it's useful if withdrawal is awful and you're having that terrible anxiety where you can't take deep breaths....But if you're not, the danger is that you use them to medicate your depression...To get away from feeling...And that could be trading one addiction for another.
Benzos are the worst detox there is, so think about it okay?
Stay hydrated, keep busy, and just take it one minute at a time.

IMO you really should get rid of those Xanax. You scare me with those in your house. You go and get hooked on those and you'll surely regret it! If you want to be clean then get clean totally. You're almost there.

I about 72 hours from my last full does ( I found a single 7.5 that I took about 48 hours ago) and I really don't have too many physical symptoms. I still have an appetite, but I am scared to eat too much in case I start to get sick. I have plenty of xanax, but I dont really want to use those if I dont have to. I guess I expected a lot worse and I keep waiting for the hard part to set in and its making me even more depressed. No worries about working on Monday, I take that day off.

Hi honey:

You got this.  Your habit wasn't nearly as bad as a lot of foiks, and if 83 is your birth year, your youth will help a lot.   Gentle...you may get diarrhea (mine didn't start till day 4) and you night feel sick.   Small sips of ginger ale, broth crackers.   Rest, and if you can manage if, a little bit of exercise will help.    I'd call in sick Monday...tell them you have a stomach bug.

Post here about how you are doing.   Good luck sweetie...-Robin

Hi..Try to get to some meeting if you can..These days my Church helps the best..Keep on re-directing your thinking and try to keep busy..Even if a meeting is a hour you can find both AA/NA and go to a few in a day or all week..This helped me in the beginning over 2 yrs back..But as you grow you will find yourself changing and either adding more or doing something different..Just make sure you drink tons of water..

Oh, and I seen your remark on a post..The Tomas recipe was made over without the Benzos..As Addicts that is just one more drug to get hooked on..I came off the Methadone that was prescribed with Adderral I got from the streets..No adhd so it was like my crank days..Then I would take a benzo at night..I have used off and on for over 40 years and NEVER had such a hard and intense detox in my Life this time around..Mostly it was due to a Benzo..SO for us Addicts we have to watch what we take. You can get the Clonidine a very light BP med that will help you Sleep and it is used for Anxiety..I finally got it after 22 days of no sleep and my Anxiety was on the moon never like before. This will also help relax the Heart a bit from pumping to hard..It should not affect your regular BP that much at all, as most people get scared about it as I did too..Until my 23rd month I had a Heart Procedure because of 2 blocked arteries that lay over the Heart..I now have alot more knowledge about these meds..I have perfect BP but they use one to help keep the muscles around the Heart from pumping to hard or fast..The Dr told me that she uses this med once in a while to help her sleep..Make sure you are Eating very Healthy because the vit/min take time to kick in..You need to build up a good immune system right now to help get these toxins out..Be Safe and Be Good..Just take it one day at a time and get into some aftercare and learn all you can about this disease even in a more Scientific way..YOU will be fine because I can tell you have a GREAT POSITIVE OUTLOOK and that helps a bunch..Just keep on pushing through to the other side.
Bless

Thanks Sweet. I'm sure its the fear of the unknown that is making so much worse, that and the depression is pretty bad. I just watched an AllState commercial and it made me cry. Trying to stay active, not just lay around on the couch, but its hard. Figured I would try this site and see if talking about it to other people like me would help. So far its the only thing I've enjoyed doing.

Personally, I think you'll be just fine. I mean it's not gonna be a cakewalk, but you CAN do it. It's totally doable. If you can take that sick day Monday, and you're anxious about it, go ahead and take it. Your peak symptoms will probably be around day 2-3 after your last dose. It just feels like a bad flu, and that really is how you have to look at it. Don't keep telling yourself "I'm in withdrawal, another pill or two will make me feel better"...tell yourself that you have the flu and you just have to ride it out. Then think about aftercare. It's imperative to have it...it really is. I wish you the best of luck and I believe in you!!
