4 Days!

Today is my 4th day!  I feel a little better. I can't believe that it wasn't that bad this time around.  Last year when I tried this, it was 100x worse.  I just feel anxiety still (but it's not as bad today), and very low energy.  When does the anxiety go away, and when will the energy come back (at least a little)?  With every step I take, it's like I have to drag myself.  I am living with an addict (my partner) who has NOT used either, except she takes subutex (she starting taking very little now).  I been wanting to use though really bad.  SHe is going to work now, so I know tomorrow she will have a ton of cash, and I told her that no matter how much I tell her and want her to get me Roxis, not to.  To mess it up over a pill and have to start this all over again, I would rather jump off a bridge.  I hope tomorrow, my day 5 wil be better.  I wish I could just sleep until then lol. I am  really glad I am not alone in this :)

Sleep seems to be the last thing to get back to normal.  Try getting some sun everyday and give sleepytime tea a shot at night.  If you take melatonin

some say benadryl works for some, but use only for a few (2-3) days at a time.  Your body needs time to reset itself and too much messing with it could backfire long term.  But, getting rest is also so important to healing..it is a balance.

Hey girl how much Xanax are you suppose to take? You're only at 5 days so why are you fighting the meds? They're there to help you until the withdrawals are better or gone. If you didn't sleep and you were that worked up to where you were crying, then at that point it takes longer for the meds to work. Why not take the Xanax an hour before bedtime and see how you feel? Don't fight this, it only makes it worse. Hang in there because 5 days is awesome!

Hey Melissa.
The sleep and anxiety did me in.  I have been using Melatonin and it has helped.  You kind of have to get used to not sleeping well.  Even 3 hours is good right now.  Some people swear by sleepy time tea. Keep trying and you may find something that works but you may not sleep for more than 3 or 4 hours at a time.  Something may work for a couple of nights and then it won't work so you can try something else.

Sending good thoughts your way, listen up to the protein shakes, vitamins and some exercise, it really helps.  Try to think about your situation at home and if it is right for you, hard to get healthy if your partner won't.  You can do this thing!

Hey Mellissa, Try to end the xanax as soon as you can, that will be another hill to climb if you don't. Each day from here on out you will feel better, some better than others. PLEASE don't get back on the pill train. You are right, these first few days are huge and you don't wanna repeat them. Oh man, I know the low energy feeling....sux's! Be sure your taking a good multi vitamin and maybe a protein drink to boost your energy. Keep posting, lots of good and caring folks to help you along. xx

Hi. and thank you! My doctor prescribed the Clonidine to take 2 times a day, but only for the w/d.  The xanax is supposed to be 2 times a day, which I don't even like taking, but it's just been  helping me sleep.  I just don't know when to stop with the Clon....I guess after 5 days when the physical stuff is over with, it's ok to stop.  I don't even know!  You are so right about being clean is the easy part...my cravings are crazy.  Once I feel better and can like actually walk out of the house without feeling like I need a wheelchair, I am going to try to go to a meeting!

Congrats on 4 days. What did your prescribing doctor say about the Clonidine and the Xanax?

As you are finding out, getting clean is the easy part. Staying clean is where the work comes in. I suggest that you get yourself involved in some form of aftercare. Both you and your partner could benefit.
